Italia 3 , Session 10 Write what you hear. The speaker says "Non sono mai andata in italia, ma vorrei andare la` in vacanza" The answer given is, "No, non sono mai andata in italia, ma vorrei andare la` in vacanza" It seems the speaker left out the initial "No," because the next sentence in the progression is "No, non sono mai andata in italia , ma vorrei andare la` in italia il mese prossimo"

i just got a macbook so I can take my fluenz on the road. At home I operate under windows and use the F3 key to play the audio. If I try to use this key on my mac, it just divides the screen into different windows. Is there a shortcut key to play the audio on a mac without hitting the cursor over the play button? I'm also having some issues where the audio will not play for certain workouts on the mac. I am currently reviewing French 2. I haven't been able to activate the audio on any of the build a sentence workouts ("write what you hear"), and at least once on the vocabulary "write what you hear". It works at home on Windows.

Thanks for the advice. Both issues fixed, and everything running great now. I changed the system preferences for the function keys. As for the audio problem, I downloaded the software update. I thought I had already done that, but is seems I only had downloaded the lion installer.

You can change how the F1, F2, F3 keys work in Mac's system preferences. OR just locate the "fn" key on your keyboard (for a macbook this is generally at the bottom left) and hold that down when pressing one of the F1, F2, etc keys. In regards to your other issue, please write to usersupport@fluenz.com about it.

We put through some major changes to the Flashcards over the weekend. If you encounter any bugs, please report them in the comment section on this post. Along with describing the issue, include Language, Level, Sessions, Type, and Mode. From a user's perspective, there are three noticeable changes: 1) The table of contents for every session has now been integrated into the main menu. 2) The app will now remember any Writing Flashcards you answered incorrectly the first time you attempted them. Once you reach the end of the set of flashcards, it will give you the opportunity to go back and try the ones you missed. 3) iPad users may notice improved performance and animations.

Oops. I made a new post for this before I found this thread. Sorry! I found two typos in the German 1, Session 7, flashcards. I used the "Writing" and "Random" options. 1. The English I have to translate: "This hotel is very good and close by. It’s over there" The incorrect German: "Dieses Hotel ist sehr groß und nah. Das ist da drüben" Solution: Change "good" to "large" in the English or change "groß" to "gut" in the German. 2. The English I have to translate: "This subway station is very far. Which subway station is close by?" The incorrect German translation: "Diese U-Bahn-Station is sehr weit entfernt. Welche U-Bahn-Station ist nah?" Solution: Change "is" to "ist" in the German. Thank you! The flashcards are sehr gut!

Eric I really like the Fluenz anywhere. I tried to send an email from the program (Send Feedback), but the email "send" button did not work. I am using Mac Lion. So far I have no issues with Fluenz anywhere and plan on using it exclusively as long as you allow me. Brian

@skykid14 - I have the same issue. However, my Macbook runs hot whenever I use anything that uses Shockwave Flash, so I think it's that as opposed to Fluenz Anywhere specifically.

Hola everyone, Does anyone know of a place where I may buy a grammar book for Spanish? I don't have Fluenz since I don't own a computer. I learn speaking with a CD while driving and now am looking for a workbook/study course for reading and writing. I'd like to learn from beginner to advanced. A book with an answer key would be best as I have no tutor and would like to check my answers. I don't intend to go back to school where workbooks would be given out. This is entirely a self study program for me. My family's from Argentina yet I wasn't taught growing up so I'd like to learn now. Thank you all for your suggestions. Craig

I think we're talking pommes et oranges here. Fluenz is all about functional, practical communication. Standardized exams are about formal grammar studies. You need to obtain content outlines for the specific tests you will be taking

We've designed Fluenz French 1 to 5 so it corresponds more or less to an A2 DELF level, which means the end of the basic/elementary level (around 160 hours of classes). These exams are quite specific, they're not so much about "formal grammar" but more about evaluating your language abilities in real-life situations. And they're based around four skills: Oral/Written understanding and Oral/Written expression. So the Fluenz software, thanks to the diverse workouts, is a good preparation for it, but if you actually plan to take the test I would strongly recommend you to diversify your practice before. It would be especially important to evaluate your oral expression with someone, and also to familiarize yourself with the actual form of the exam. If you're interested here's a great link we've found where you can actually take an A2 French exam online for free (with audios and all..) check it out :)http://www.lingoclub.com/html2/index.php?option=com_sobi2&sobi2Task=sobi... There are also plenty of sites explaining which skills are evaluated for each exam...(typing French DELF exams on google...)

How many Fluenz ID's can be created with each unique serial that comes in a Fluenz box? I have some old copies for Fluenz Spanish & Chinese that I use with my students that don't require any serial number so we can just use the DVDs on whatever PC is available. I recently purchased two copies each of French, German, and Italian, and created six different accounts with the provided serial numbers. When a student tried to use the username and password on a different PC when prompted, it wouldn't work. I had her setup her own account using the same serial. I realize you are trying to combat piracy since it's way too easy to copies DVDs and share torrents, but it is becoming complicated to manage the six accounts on nine machines at two schools. I always just run the software off of the DVD since installing created one more obstacle since I don't have admin access. Any ideas???

The activation is tied to the computer, period. Therefore, using the software on the same computer but with multiple user accounts does NOT count as additional activations. However, you WILL need to "re-activate" for each user account on that computer (i.e. use the serial number again the first time you run the software), but this will NOT decrease the 3 activation limit. Does that make sense?

It works like this: you can activate the program on up to three computers with the same serial. The creation of a Fluenz ID (and then subsequent use of that ID to log in at the beginning of the program activation process on a different computer) does not activate the program on that computer. It's still the serial number that does the activation. If you need to use the software on more than 3 computers, please write to usersupport@fluenz.com and explain your situation. They'll put you in touch with the right person.
